CREATING LINES

A monthly improvisation devising event with three sessions navigated by three pairs of writers and directors and a group of actors to create inspiration for new pieces of work

Optimum scenario: A writer attends and works with us on Creative Lines, gets inspired and writes a play. We show an extract of it at LineUp with the final aim being to produce the full play.

This day is aimed to inspire writers and to celebrate that all important crucible thought or idea that becomes the genesis of a project. It puts writers and dramaturges in an environment where not only can they network with actors, directors and other creatives but gives them an opportunity to become inspired by the improvised work the actors and directors are playing with on the workshop floor either by being one of the three writers work shopping or just writing ideas with a notepad in the audience space. We want to provide writers with enough stimuli so that hopefully an idea formulates in their head to start a new journey.

 Creative juices flowing

It aims to provide the writer and any other writers in the audience with inspiration for new work as well as a great opportunity to network with everyone there. After each hour and half session there will be half an hour to get ready for the next session and a time to talk about the improvisations and meet new people. The whole day is from 10.30-5.30 best of all it’s completely free to watch and Greenwich Market next door does great food!
